The Lady Who Unites (sculpture)

A sculptural allegory of power, unity, and timeless influence. Part of the New Kingdom trilogy.

oil painted clay, 14.5in, 30.5lbs

This sculptural piece extends the symbolic vocabulary of the portrait (“The Lady Who Unites”150x150cm, oil on linen, 2025) by merging contemporary representation with visual references drawn from New Kingdom royal statuary. Crafted with restraint yet intention, the figure becomes a vessel for allegorical meaning—bridging ceremonial power with performative femininity. The combination of gold tones and architectural balance highlights how ancient forms can still communicate messages of unity, strength, and influence in a modern context.

In The Lady Who Unites, the eyes are made of lapis lazuli, the semiprecious stone that in ancient Egypt symbolized divine wisdom, protection, and eternal sight. This choice is not decorative but allegorical — linking the face of contemporary political presence with the sacred aura of ancient power depictions. The eyes thus become a symbol of penetrating vision, foresight, and influence.
